Even in bad circumstances, something good can grow out of it. A lotus flower is the perfect example of this as it grows in mud. Because of this, the lotus is a special symbol in Buddhism. To celebrate Buddha’s birthday, the Yeon Deung Hoe (Lotus Lantern Festival) is held every year. And you guessed it, it’s full of lotus lanterns!
It is not Buddha’s birthday at the time of the convention, but we can still give you a chance to make your own lotus lantern. To remind you of the meaning behind the lotus or just because you think it’s a pretty flower and it can make for a good lamp; that’s all up to you! We can just help you making one during the workshop. 😉 Of course, you can bring it home afterwards and spread the message!
